Blind Spot
The face of the global workforce is more diverse than ever before. With Baby Boomers retiring or get ready to retire Generation X and Millennials will make up a larger portion of the workforce.
As COVID19, drives corporations into adapting to the concept of remote workforce mode faster than originally planned, what challenges will generational diversity and disparities pose for senior executives? How do they create a remote work environment that maximizes productivity and profitability to the corporation with a workforce that have proprieties?
Baby Boomers (56-74) seek job security and are motivated by money; Generation X (40-55) seek work-life balance and flexibility; Millennials (24-39) are less motivated by money and are more goal oriented and progressive.
Illumination
Each company and industry have unique requirements. It is therefore important that companies develop the best possible infrastructure and model that work for their specific need. Close examination of the generational differences, values and priorities in the workforce today would be a prudent place to start.
As the face of the global workforce continue to evolve in the coming years senior executives will have to learn how to effectively and efficiently manage:
· Baby Boomers’ need for job security, career prestige and generous compensation
· Generation X’s need for flexibility, work-life balance and job fulfillment
· Millennials need for rapid advancement, technological savvy and collaborative management
Senior executives might consider assembling a specialized team to collaborate with them in the development of their company’s remote workforce. Having a team dedicated to helping to navigate this new terrain will best position them to outline, structure, and implement an effective remote workforce that can fully leverage the opportunities available within this diversity.

Many of my accomplishments have been win or lose situations. For me, second place was not an option. My key to success was to assemble a diverse team of specialized individuals who were experts in their fields. Together, we were able to develop strategies that helped me to identity, address and eliminate my “blind spots”. When winning or losing are the only two choices, choose to win.
